THE TEAM
Right Angles is a team of
experts. Dedicated, experienced people who genuinely know their
stuff and always go the extra mile. Paul calls them his “hangers-
on.”
Paul
Blanchard Captain
Some
people don’t like Paul, but these people are mad and not to
be trusted. Don’t listen to a word they say. People in white
coats will be coming in a van to collect them soon. The ones that
do like Paul would say this: he is young, dynamic, passionate and
bright. He’s successful at what he does because he’s
a grafter. When working for clients, his high-energy approach and
‘whatever it takes’ attitude always gets results - lots
& lots of them.
Paul’s achievements include starting his own internet
hosting business at the age of 17. With servers at Telehouse in
Canary Wharf, and a full voting member of the regulatory authority
Nominet, his company won many awards; including ‘Growth Business
of the Year’ in 2001, and ‘Best Business Web Site –
Functionality’ in 2000. His company grew considerably because
Paul is a natural marketer; he heavily used PR to grow the business,
as in the early years he had literally no money for advertising.
In 2001, aged 26, Paul saw sense:
he decided to focus on the bit he was good at and most enjoyed,
and so started Right Angles. Still a bit of a techie geek though,
he still has use for his vast knowledge of the internet and specialises
in online marketing, social media, and the often-overlooked art
of ‘offline’ promotion for ‘online’ businesses.
He works internationally training in presentation & media skills
for a variety of clients, from academic institutes to pharmaceutical
conglomerates; and can speak from experience as he’s been
a live studio guest on most major TV and radio news shows, representing
clients, campaigns, and debating policy.
He is a bit political too. He is in his fifth year as a councillor
in his hometown, and was recently being re-elected with a vastly
increased vote. He also stood for Parliament in the general election
of 2005 and got the best campaign result in terms of swing in the
whole country, growing his party’s vote by 41%. He still lost
though. He works internationally training in Presentation &
Media skills for a variety of clients, from academic institutes
to pharmaceutical conglomerates, and can speak from experience as
he’s been a studio guest on everything –Sky News, Channel
Four news, and even Richard & Judy!
So what’s the bottom line? Paul is a shameless networking
whore and as a result he has excellent contacts in business, industry,
law, politics, national and local government, public affairs, media
and public relations. He knows the people you need to succeed; both
regionally and nationally, in companies, newspapers, radio, and
TV; and he isn’t afraid to pull strings, scratch backs, and
call in favours. For you!
Why not email him at paul@90degrees.co.uk
and arrange a no-obligation chat. He likes talking to people, but
I’m sure you have worked that out anyway! And if you really
do have nothing to do, visit Paul's personal web site at www.paul-blanchard.info
They do the real work!
The graft, the designing, writing, selling-in to journos, and photographering!
Experts in their own right, they get the job done, right first time.
Lisa Northcott
Account Manager
Lisa previously studied as a film-maker for six years, living a
cold, isolated
existence as a screenwriter. One day, Lisa caught a glimpse of her
sad reflection
in a strip of celluloid, and it was then that she finally decided
to up sticks, move to
the big smoke and put her literary prowess to action!
Upon arrival, Lisa embarked on a series of intern-flings, ranging
from publishing
to marketing, and finally the fiery romance she had been waiting
for: PR. Because
she is so personable, dynamic and has a fastidious eye for detail,
it was simply
meant to be.
Away from work, Lisa has a penchant for the finer things in life,
such as: the
modernist works of Marc Chagall, Richard Brautigan’s off-beat
poetry and the
cinematic genius that is Harold and Maude. She also has great hair.
Beth Bramley
Account Manager
Beth is passionate, persistent and embraces a challenge. Originally
a Sheffield-girl, she still pines for the Pennine mists over her
strong coffee and bleeping Blackberry every morning.
She’s packed a lot into her twenties: studying politics in
Berlin, becoming a journalist in Manchester, and a year living in
a demolition zone in China teaching 700 Chinese teenagers the words
to Bowie’s ‘Space Odyssey’. Returned from cycling
through paddy fields and sleeping in yurts, she’s now settled
in leafy south London but is still on the hunt for London’s
best dumplings and wanton soup.
Sweep
Blanchard Canine
communications strategist
Sweep is the office dog.
He was born on 1 June 2003 on a farm in Goole. Since then,
he’s basically hung around Paul and the team at Right Angles,
as he comes to the
office every day with his daddy. He sleeps mostly and often barks
when people ring
the doorbell, which is rather unhelpful when people are on the phone.
Sadly, because he lacks opposable thumbs, he can’t do much
more in the office
beyond lifting everyone’s spirits and just generally being
cuddly. He used to have his
own facebook profile but then the facebook police took it down on
the basis that he
wasn’t a human being. They caught him as he joined the group
“Ban Humans
from Facebook”.
Anna
Barclay Account
Manager
Anna isn’t afraid of challenges - being a Scouser who has
lived and worked in bitter northern rival Manchester - where her
thick skin (and accent) helped her to survive the torrential, insistent
rain. She decided the next stop was the bustling capital. Meeting
Paul was the opportunity needed to cement the desire to move, so
she upped sticks, moving to London with her Everton mug and unyielding
hope.
After a stint interning in at a social media firm in China, with
her obsessive-compulsive attention to detail, organisation and a
yearning desire to express her opinions, PR seemed like the natural
progression for a fresh-faced graduate.
Unsurprisingly with a background in fashion, spending hours trawling
the shops and making clothes are preferred past-times. longings
to travel have helped to improve linguistic aptitude, speaking French,
Spanish and the most basic of Mandarin – desperately trying
to alienate herself from the Brookside and Harry Enfield ‘Scousers’
stereotype.
Fiona Cordingley Account
Executive
Fiona has joined us from the world of kitchen appliances, sinks
& taps where she
worked in product marketing for a PLC company. Before that she studied
Philosophy
at the University of Hull where she developed a constant yearning
for ‘chip spice’,
won several sporting awards and proved that in addition to being
driven and highly
competitive she also can’t resist a challenge.
Following advice from her great grandmother to ‘try everything
once’ has resulted in a
busy lifestyle and an eclectic mix of interests and hobbies. Topping
her list of favourite
things are music (dubstep and classical), fashion (where she harbours
an unhealthy
relationship with Topshop), and ‘village life’ taking
part in a variety of countryside
activities and village wide events (notably the annual scarecrow
festival).
Neil Antony
Milne Design Manager
Neil has worked 'up north' for various design and marketing firms
in Leeds, York and
North Yorkshire, including many years as a senior designer for KPMG.
After vowing to
never leave the rugged landscapes of Yorkshire, London came calling
and after a few
pints of real ale, the odd pickled egg - and Paul’s promise
of a 30” monitor - the urban
vistas of our illustrious capital won him over.
A purveyor of all aspects of art and design, and able to deliver
concept creations
through to final design solutions both in print and online media.
A rather down to earth and approachable creative who - when not
stuck to his
workplace - can be seen creating large works in oils and acrylic
as well as cooking
with cheap wine and strumming his guitars.
No hassle. No fuss. No messing. No bull. Just results.
