THE TEAM
Right Angles is a team of experts. Dedicated, experienced people who genuinely know their stuff and always go the extra mile. Paul calls them his “hangers- on.”

Paul Blanchard Captain
Some people don’t like Paul, but these people are mad and not to be trusted. Don’t listen to a word they say. People in white coats will be coming in a van to collect them soon. The ones that do like Paul would say this: he is young, dynamic, passionate and bright. He’s successful at what he does because he’s a grafter. When working for clients, his high-energy approach and ‘whatever it takes’ attitude always gets results - lots & lots of them!

Paul’s achievements include starting his own internet hosting business at the age of 17. His servers were at Telehouse in Canary Wharf, and he was a full voting member of Nominet, the UK Internet regulatory authority. His company won many awards, including ‘Growth Business of the Year’ in 2001 and ‘Best Business Web Site – Functionality’ at the Yorkshire Web Site finals in 2000. In 2001, Paul saw sense – he decided to focus on what he was good at, started Right Angles, and got out of the
technical side of the IT industry. He still has use
for his vast knowledge of the internet and specialises in online marketing. And, bizarrely, is very good at ‘offline’ promotion for ‘online’ businesses – something they often overlook.

He is a bit political too. He is in his fifth year as a councillor in his hometown, and was recently being re-elected with a vastly increased vote. He also stood for Parliament in the general election of 2005 and got the best campaign result in terms of swing in the whole country, growing his party’s vote by 41%. He still lost though. He works internationally training in Presentation & Media skills for a variety of clients, from academic institutes to pharmaceutical conglomerates, and can speak from experience as he’s been a studio guest on everything –Sky News, Channel Four news, and even Richard & Judy!

So what’s the bottom line? Paul is a shameless networking whore and as a result he has excellent contacts in business, industry, education, law, politics, national and local government, public affairs, media and public relations. He knows the people you need to succeed, both regionally and nationally, in companies and newspapers, and he isn’t afraid to pull strings, scratch backs, and call in favours. For you!

Why not email him at paul@90degrees.co.uk and arrange a no-obligation chat. He likes talking to people, but I’m sure you have worked that out anyway! And if you really do have nothing to do, visit Paul's personal web site at www.paul-blanchard.info

The ‘hangers- on’
They do the real work! The graft, the designing, writing, photographering! Experts in their own right, they like Paul, so feel the need to form a sad, happy- clappy collective.

Ross Brown Digital Guru
Ross is to digital marketing what Gordon Ramsay is to cuisine. But with less foul language.

After spending the early part of his career as a journalist, he then crossed to the dark side to work in PR for one of the region's biggest agencies, before combining his love of technology and knowledge of marketing to specialise in all aspects of digital marketing.

From ASP to XHTML, there is no abbreviation for which he doesn't have a plain English explanation, practical experience and an encyclopedic knowledge.

More than 'just' an account manager, Ross also gets his hands dirty designing, building and copywriting, so knows what is and isn't possible. And what does and doesn't work.

A Bradfordian by birth, he lives in Holmfirth, and can be found at weekends driving a bathtub down its cobbled streets in tribute to the town's more famous residents.

Bill Hearld Projects Director
Bill Hearld has finally returned to public relations after hundreds of years in daily newspapers.

The one-time Yorkshire Television and BBC news stringer joins the RightAngles hangers-on from York and North Yorkshire’s daily newspaper, The Press, where he was deputy editor.

He has spent a lifetime in newspapers working as a reporter, chief reporter, chief feature writer, news editor and women’s editor – “the free samples made me really popular with the ladies. What would I do with a hundred shades of lipstick?”

Bill worked for many years on the Northern Echo as a district chief reporter and daily diary columnist.

He also spent five years as head of public affairs and internal communications with Regional Railways during the crucial British Rail privatisation years.

Bill, also a professional photographer, has done PR work for health authorities, housing associations, engineering and quarrying companies, councils and, many years ago, York Racecourse. “Look how successful they are now,” he quips.

Neil Milne Designer
As a former baker, motorcycle courier, pavement artist, river boat skipper, butcher and candlestick maker, Neil exhausted most of the local ‘proper’ jobs scene. Then he picked up his paper and crayons to spend six years studying Art & Design, initially at York before gaining an Honours Degree in Graphic Design at Leeds Polytechnic.

After working for agencies in Leeds, York and North Yorkshire for clients including BT, NHS, Dyson, Puma, Corus, World Television, and two years as a Senior Designer at KPMG, Neil set up the spottydogdesign agency. Neil designs for both print and websites as well as creating logo designs and illustrations.

Neil is also partial to a bit of Bob Dylan, cheap wine and growing prize tomatoes.

Sarah Nuttall Copywriter
Sarah loves complex information. She’s a geek! She’s also highly unsociable and slightly mad but these are minor defects are counter-balanced by her enormous brain (& ego). With all the usual qualifications including a degree in Ancient History, Archaeology and Greek from Liverpool University, she went straight into the Civil Service in London and spent eleven years trying to escape with the spectre of a guaranteed pension hanging over her!

Eventually having run out of ministers to brief, legislation to write, stakeholders to fight off, enemies to make and pensions to find and ditch, she got parole and spent three years copywriting at a PR and Marketing company. Sarah set up her own business in 2002 and writes commercial words for globals, corporates and SMEs.

Clients include software companies, manufacturers, financial and legal services, land remediation and government organisations.

Chris Titley News Journalist
Ink-stained fingers and poor eyesight are testament to Chris’s lifelong addiction to newspapers. His destiny as a journalist became inevitable when he launched his primary school’s first newspaper shortly before his tenth birthday.

Chris trained as a reporter on the daily paper in Bath, where he pestered Van Morrison, took an open-top bus tour with Rolf Harris and chronicled the downfall of Tory chairman Chris Patten. Thirteen years spent at the Evening Press, York, saw his titles grow faster than his salary: features editor, leader writer, columnist, diarist, books editor, historian, page designer and, most importantly, pub correspondent.

This year he launched his career as a freelance writer and PR, while continuing his occasional sideline as a stand-up comedian.

No hassle. No fuss. No messing. No bull. Just results.
